“New Year New Me”. So many people have a problem with this phrase however, if somebody sees the 1St of January as a clean state to make some changes – why judge? All I see here is a positive notion. Yes, it’s just another day but if it alters your mind-set for the better…I AM ALL FOR IT.
I feel like 2016 was a very good year for me in so many respects yet sometimes difficult but that’s expected. I don’t strive for perfection & don’t expect a whole year to consist of that. I did however learn some interesting lessons that I think if we all took on board in 2017, we would be embracing some seriously positive vibes.
In 2016, I went through a hella lot of changes. I came back from studying abroad in Australia where I had the time of my life, only to have to settle into the madness of 3rd year. I then moved to London straight after my degree finished to start an internship in the corporate world.
So many times in 2016 I didn’t know whether I was coming or going! I didn’t feel like anywhere was “home”. However, looking back on it, all the changes that occurred made me grow up so much. I was pushed out of my comfort zone again and again. I was surrounded by new people continuously and I LOVED IT.
Change allows you to grow…it FORCES you to grow. It allows you to be exposed to new opportunities, meet people you never thought you would and find new passions in life that fill you with excitement.
In 2017, we should all try to change something. It doesn’t have to be as extreme as where you live. Maybe change your hair, your gym, your job. ANYTHING POSITIVE.
I went on a lot of trips in 2016 with great people. I embraced new countries and experiences. Was it THAT expensive? Not really. I stand by the notion that adventure does not have to be expensive.
We all need a bit of adventure in our lives (I need a lot). So this year…BOOK THAT TRIP. You don’t have to go on loads. You don’t have to go far. You can even explore the beautiful country that you live in! But you do HAVE to go. I’m telling you…and I’m super mean and scary so you should listen to my 5 ft 4 self.
I’ll be travelling around the world this year on the adventure of a lifetime SO feel free to hit me up, join me en route, say hey or whatever you wanna do. I WILL BE FLOATING AROUND. Catch me if you can….

It may seem obvious but I feel like people so often need reminding…you only have one body! It may not be perfect; it may not be exactly what you want but it is yours so treat it like a holy temple!
In 2015 I put my body through some difficult times. I barely ate, I over exercised to hell and I had a lot of self-hate. Fast forward to the end of 2016 and WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I surrounded myself by inspiring people who had such a healthy approach to exercise and nutrition. I learnt so much about the way our bodies work and decided to treat my own with some respect.
The moral of the story? Eat well, nourish not punish, be active but not forceful and your body will thank you. You become happier and learn to love the way you look. Most importantly you FEEL amazing!
Your vibe attracts your tribe. When you feel amazing in yourself, the people you surround yourself with do too. It can be a happy endless cycle of self-love if you let it be!
